Interested in raising your own food or becoming more self-sufficient? Join Kaisha at Hedgerow Willows for a hands-on Rabbit Butchering Workshop designed for homesteaders, small farmers, and anyone wanting to learn ethical, farm-to-table meat processing.
This beginner-friendly class covers the complete harvesting process from start to finish, with an emphasis on humane handling, respect for the animal, food safety, and practical techniques you can use at home.
During the workshop, you'll learn:
Humane harvest methods
Skinning and dressing a rabbit
Evisceration and carcass inspection
Safe meat handling and sanitation
Breaking down a rabbit for cooking
Packaging and freezer storage
Equipment recommendations for home processing
Tips for raising healthy meat rabbits
Participants will observe demonstrations and have the opportunity for hands-on practice in a supportive learning environment. There will also be time for questions and discussion about rabbit husbandry, processing regulations, and building confidence in harvesting your own livestock.

Important Information
This class includes the live harvest and processing of rabbits. Participants must be comfortable with observing and discussing all aspects of animal harvest and meat processing. Due to the nature of the workshop, all participants must be 18 years or older or 13+ and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
